Biography.
Sam John Beeton, was born in Carlton in Nottinghamshire, England on the 13th September 1988. He attended Carlton Le Willows design & technology college, and was discovered while playing acoustically at his local pub The Old Volunteer, aged 14. He would play a song or two between sets of other acts, and began by singing classic Nina Simone covers, but gradually moved onto his own material.
By the time record labels were interested in Sam's work, he was already becoming a widespread phenomenon. He would do gigs in London to bigger audiences, as well as his regular Nottingham gigs. With so much interest from all the major record companies, Sam would simply turn up with his guitar and play, until he eventually signed with RCA, the label that he thought best understood his music.
Sam's work was easily accessible on the radio, with 'What You Look For' being Record of the Week on Jo Whileys & Scott Mills of Radio 1, consecutively.
Sam was also nominated for Best Pop Act at the BT Digital Music Awards, but unfortunately lost out to Kylie Minogue.
The folk/indie artist has supported The Script, Sandi Thom, James Morrison, Scouting For Girls, The Hoosiers and more recently Charlie Simpson on UK tours, as well as completing one UK tour in his own right.
Sam has also modelled for the British fashion label, Burberry, notably the Spring Collection 2009.
Sam's style of music is distinct & unique. He is a singer-songerwriter of genuine and emotional depth, with the ablitiy to reach out to thousands. He has included many instruments in his work, such as; the harmonica, trombone, piano and drums, but he mainly uses guitar, of which he has many.
Recently, Sam has set up his own record label called Sweet Luigi. He has also has set up the Record Club, where he distributes new music to fans, directly to their door. He believes this is a more exciting way to receive music, rather than waiting a year for a whole album, and his fans agree. He has got many followers from the UK, and International followers, from places such the USA and Russia.
